Ancylostoma duodenale (hookworm) 2 pairs of ventral teeth and a pair of accessory teeth female 10 - 13 mm male 8 - 11 mm. This hookworm of humans has a prepatent development of several weeks to several months; infections are diagnosed by finding eggs in the faeces. Fix nematodes in 10 percent formalin. To examine: small nematodes can be mounted in glycerine or glycerine jelly ringed with nail polish or chlorlactophenol or dehydrated, cleared and mounted as permanent preparations.
